it's about time

i have had (and still have one or two) friends from the former yugoslavian areas. additionally, in terms of balkans, there's always my sweet little albanian to keep me abreast of issues facing the region. however, this is really my first post (at least in my memory) about how crazy people in the area can be. at least in specific parts of the area. witness this crap. selection for the eurovision song contest is going on in many countries across the continent, but the most contemptuous contest seems to be in serbia & montenegro. the group that actually won the contest (a boy band from montenegro called no name) was booed off the stage and had to be escorted from the building to protect their safety, after serbian group (and i hope the person with long, shaggy and white beard, and the other members with the lame costumes are ironic) flamingos came in second. sore losers? maybe. or maybe the RNC is in charge of the vote tallying. at any rate, please, serbia, it's only eurovision. i mean, look who finland is sending to represent them (and please give it a look, i promise it will be worth it!).

I knew there was a way to analyze geopolitical conflict via Eurovision. Thank you for showing me the way.
