yarr
recently, someone accused me of only caring about politics (or at least only talking/thinking about politics...i am too lazy to actually go back and read the comment) and i have to say it is more or less true, although in the last couple of days i have discussed strawberry shortcakes, white slavery, and a female friend of mine almost being orally pleased in a doorway on the streets of vancouver, bc, so i'm not completely obsessed with the political. unless you think that everything is inherently political, and then we can discuss what systematic failure might have led my friend to believe that a random lesbian encounter in a bar would not end with her drunkenly buttoning up her pants and very self-righteously marching herself out of a darkened corner of the street.
but, i digress. the real reason i've gathered you all here today is to discuss politics, and once again it surrounds idaho. i just can't quit you, idaho (OMFG i still haven't seen it and it's still creeping into my blog). sen. gerry sweet, who, i might add, is one of *the* most offensive people in the idaho legislature missed one-third of all the votes thus far in the joint finance committee. as you may know, this committee (JFAC) is the type of committee that legislators salivate to be appointed to, because most every other committee and bill is dependent upon the decisions that these members make. but mr. sweet just couldn't find time in his schedule to make it there for many of those very important votes. naturally, he did find *plenty* of time to push an anti-gay marriage amendment through the legislature for the third session in a row. at any rate, this guy represents the district where my mother lives, and there is actually a decent democrat (ryndy reed-williams) running against him, but the republicans are incredibly strong out there and it will take a lot of time, money, and effort to topple mr. sweet. i hope that the concept of the new 50-state strategy was not entirely ignored by the idaho democrats and they don't completely cede any district where they were able to field a candidate.

ha ha. it would have been interesting if you had discussed strawberries and gay marriage in the same post.

Outdoor head in Vancouver is da bomb. Thanks for at least mentioning something worthwhile before sauntering into the political arena.
