and it's over

congratulations to my dear lola who got her wish of seeing italy win. she's been waiting for this moment since she was but a wee gal in albania, and now it happened!

i am, of course, sad that france didn't pull through...and it's not the best way for zidane to go out, being pulled from the game for a stupid action in the heat of the moment. alas. next time, since so many players on both teams are retiring, the french and italian teams will be almost completely new.

good game all around for the most part. congratulations italy!
