school and other such nonsense

good afternoon.

my what a dry spell seems to be happening here. i've actually been on the verge of typing up a quick entry numerous times over the last few days, but every time seem to be cut short by some other distraction--my apologies.

in my defense life has been fairly overwhelming recently. my first day of classes for my graduate program began today, and orientation and a couple days of math clinics were in the previous week. Coupled with a weekend of drinking far more than i should have on sunday (quite by accident!) and the complete elimination of social smoking from my weekly activities, and the stress of worrying about he-who-is-now-known-as-my-husband returning to school after a long absence to finish his undergraduate degree, and i have been a little out of sorts. not too out of sorts to come on here (eventually) and write confusingly long run-on sentences! hooray!

so, here's the deal: writing will continue to be sporadic (in much the same vein as has been the case most of this year, only perhaps to a much larger degree) as i will undoubtedly be caught up in the hell that is going to grad school full time in addition to having a full-time job. please be patient, and think happy thoughts. also, i will try to post some pictures of this summer's events for all y'all. stay tuned.
