friday for fuck's sake

well, hello there, stranger!

i've thus far had a fairly relaxing friday night, which is a good thing considering the schoolwork i have to complete this weekend as well as the few hours i am going to have to put in at the office someitme this weekend in order to finish up a few things that must be done by monday morning.

i've spent a part of this evening on you tube looking at various things from the early 1980's. i, being the youthful specimen of a quality human that i am, was born in 1980--so very little of the early part of that decade is part of my memory--even though i was alive and well going about my business of existing. my favorties are cultural markers like the following clip--


also, i am obsessed with oft-forgotten music from the early part of the decade--especially the early electronic scene--stuff with bizarre and fairly dark overtones:


finally, i would be lying if i wasn't excited for the coming election. in an incredibly bizarre way i am sad i am not in idaho as it looks like the anti-republican sentiment is appearing there as well. the first congressional district (where the parents of yours truly reside as well as many friends) was added to the dccc's "red to blue list" today, and many other races are making splashes there as well. plus? love the ad. bill sali, running against larry grant in the 1st CD, is truly a vile individual--and has been from way back when i worked in the legislature (basically from the moment he arrived in the legislature he has accomplished nothing except for creating a large amount of animosity towards himself). check it out!
