bittersweet
i am very pleased on the whole re: election results (especially our dreamy new massachusetts governor deval patrick and speaker pelosi). however, minus a smattering of state legislative gains, the idaho democrats, having the best chances in the last 12 years to win, did not.
i feel horrid for idaho, but it just reinforces to me why i'm so much better off out here. for the second time the 1st congressional district of idaho sent a looney to washington. wonders never cease.

This morning I am embarassed and not just a little depressed. While watching the returns late last night I was remembering a marathon drunken phone call with you in France during the 2004 election. At least I'm only feeling bad for Idaho this morning instead of the horrific black doom I felth then.
